Joey didn’t like the dark, but he loved the velvety night sky on winter evenings, when the north wind, with its icy breath, swept the air clean and polished the stars until they shone bright and clear. He had a special fondness for the moon: he loved watching it in all its phases. And it was the moon itself, a special friend, that would help Joey overcome his fear of the dark and of the night.
