Today, it is quite natural for us to board a plane and cross great distances...but this is a possibility that we have only recently achieved! In the past, many cultivated the dream of flying, and even the great Leonardo da Vinci, genius of the Renaissance, attempted to realise this aspiration. Observing the flight of birds, Leonardo studied the movements of the wings and designed incredible flying machines, similar to hang gliders, helicopters and modern aircraft.
